TranLogistics, exclusive forwarder of FAA freight bound for Haiti, coordinated with WTDC in Miami, using its staging and warehouse capabilities to organize FAA generators, diesel fuel, trucks, food, water, and the key piece of the FAA’s shipment: a 44 ft mobile Air Traffic Control Center last used during Hurricane Katrina. A chartered Boeing C-17 delivered the humanitarian aid and the command center soon followed in a Russian AN-124 Antonov.

WTDC supports the logistics efforts of freight forwarders and charitable organizations such as FEMA, Save the Children, America’s Relief Team, and the FAA. We recognize the unique challenges in rebuilding Haiti and are prepared to handle your clients' requests.

Miami’s Supply Chain Providers rally to deliver US aid to Haiti

haiti relief logistics femaWhile the nation rallies to financially support Haiti, Miami logistics companies are working around the clock helping government agencies deploy their assistance.

“We feel that our efforts directly impact life in Haiti and this brings a sense of urgency to everything we do,” says Ralph L. Gazitua, President and CEO of WTDC, a logistics and warehousing company in west Miami-Dade. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) both relied on WTDC to process their relief cargo.

FEMA needed to organize inbound airline pallets filled with cots, tents, food and water from around the country and assemble these items in a manner that could be easily deployed in Haiti. It awarded the contract for this work to RFC Logistics.

As the FEMA project began to develop and the scope of work continued to shift, logistics provider RFC Logistics adapted its operations to include WTDC. Both businesses established a plan of action with less than 4 hours notice and worked throughout the weekend to help FEMA achieve its goals. Both companies had a small window to successfully manage this aid.

WTDC has been the leading Logistics and Warehousing provider in Miami for over 33 years.  WTDC specializes in providing US Customs Bonded Warehousing and logistics infrastructure services including project management, distribution, eCommerce and inventory management.

RFC Logistics, with more than 40 years of experience in providing tactical global logistics support to Government and NGO’s, is a woman-owned, minority certified (MBE), small business SBA 8(a).
